10 Years of Golf Eichenheim

With a new website, lots of attractive programme highlights and challenging tournaments to mark the anniversary year.

With spring arriving in Kitzbühel and the summer season around the corner, preparations are also well underway at Golf Eichenheim to ensure a great kick-off of the anniversary season next weekend. When the 18-hole course opens on 24 April 2010, it will be hard to imagine the level of commitment and fervour shown by the greenkeepers over the past four weeks to create the perfect green. In total, 40cm of snow was removed from a green area measuring one hectare to get this jewel of the Tyrolean Alps ready for the new golf season and its 10th birthday.

Sporting ambition and nature at its purest

For 10 years now, golfers from all over the world have been enjoying the special fascination of Golf Eichenheim, nestled in the Tyrolean Alps. Lush deciduous forests and natural brooks are the most essential characteristic features, along with the scenery of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range, the Hahnenkamm mountain and the Hohe Tauern mountains. In laying out this par 71 course, which measures 6,092 metres in length and lies at an altitude of 116 metres, top US golf course designer Kyle Phillips successfully brought the 18-hole course into complete harmony with nature and to offer golfers not just ambitious sport, but also a relaxing journey through the beauty of the Tyrolean Alps.

At the same time, Golf Eichenheim would like to provide endless opportunities to celebrate the thrill of golf, by serving up a varied supporting programme, and to give newcomers an opportunity to discover the fascination of Eichenheim. The golf school’s new supporting programme, under the management of Hansjörg Lumpi, is just one of the many attractions. 10 years of Golf Eichenheim is also the 1st season of the Grand Tirolia Golf & Ski Resort as a home within the splendid golf course. Bid for 10 memberships of Golf Eichenheim´s 10th anniversary

How does it work? Apply for a membership for the 18 hole championship course and bid at an amount starting from € 9.000,00 (regular membership is € 15.920,00). The 10th bidder for each membership will receive it for the auctioned price.  All amounts over € 10.000,00 go to the Laureus Sports for Good Foundation (Germany/Austria) – which means: if you bought your membership at auction worth €  14.800,00 the foundation will receive € 4. 800,00. Grand Tirolia Golf & Ski Resort at golf course Eichenheim is the first „Home of Laureus“ in Austria.
